Consumer Services - Bankruptcy Process
Step 1 CONTACT DRUKER AND ASSOCIATES
You can make your appointment with one of our consultants by calling 514-935-8501 or contacting a representative through our website.
Step 2 NO OBLIGATION, FREE CONSULTATION
Our bankruptcy trustees, licensed by federal government under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, will evaluate your financial situation and discuss all available options. Should you decide that bankruptcy is right for you, your trustee will guide you and complete all the documents that you will be required to sign.
Step 3 REGISTERING THE BANKRUPTCY
We will complete and send all necessary documents to register your file. From this point on, your creditors may only communicate with your trustee. Once the bankruptcy is filed, you can consider this day 1!
Step 4 FINANCIAL CONSULTATION SESSIONS
Within 2 months of the bankruptcy, we will meet with you to assess your financial situation. During this meeting, if necessary, we will advise you on any matters with warning signs of financial distress.
Before the seventh month of your bankruptcy, you shall attend a second counselling session with your trustee to examine the causes of your bankruptcy, and to learn how to regain control over your finances.
Step 5 AUTOMATIC DISCHARGE
After nine months of financial guidance and having successfully participated in the 2 consultation meetings, your bankruptcy trustee will issue you a certificate of discharge (assuming there is no opposition). Once discharged, you will be officially and legally released from your debts in question.
